FINALLY YESTERDAY THE RIVER OVERFLOWED, REACHED OUR SHELTER AND HAS FLOODED IT
You don't know how it hurts to write those words
As we already told you, yesterday we were forced to evacuate our shelter, all our dogs due to the risk of flooding, luckily we were able to do it in time we were able to relocate all our children and we want to make it clear that that is the MOST IMPORTANT thing.
The first thing was them, once everyone was safe, we would start to climb things high and try to save everything possible, but unfortunately, it was not possible, just when they were going to take the last dogs, the companions realized that the water began to enter uncontrollably everywhere, the level rose by seconds, it was not the rain, it was the river, it had overflowed and had reached our shelter
They were very brave, they did not hesitate, they did not paralyze, they managed to get out and save the last 2 who remained, our beloved Mastiffs, Chicho and Hanna
The last time we could look at the images of the interior of the shelter, the water almost reached a meter in height and kept rising...
Those of you who know us know that our shelter is a pride for all of us, not for luxurious or beautiful or big, NO, it is for the care, the clean, the tidy, the cozy, it is, for having been the first home of so many who have needed it, for all those who have recovered their dignity, their life and their future there,
for being the only home of those who did not have the opportunity to have another
Since yesterday we are all with a shrunken heart and going through a very very bad time, until we can't re-enter (hopefully soon) we won't be able to do damage control and we won't really know what we're facing, what we do know, is that whatever it is, we're going back! And we'll make it stronger than ever! If there is something we can be more proud of than our refuge, it is of all those who make up this family, of all those who support us, all those who once again know that you will be there, helping, walking with us, giving us strength and preventing us from falling!
With all my heart, THANK YOU all for the support, for the encouragement, for the courage, for the effort, for the concern, THANK YOU FOR SO MUCH LOVE!
PS. We receive comments saying that we already know that the area is floodable, that we are surprised, that why we don't leave, that we will always be the same... We are the first ones who want to leave there, we are the ones who suffer anxiety, stress and anguish every time it rains hard, those who have to run away, those who cry every time! If we don't leave, it's because we have nowhere to go, it's that simple and that hard, we've been looking for YEARS, looking for a place to go and without finding absolutely nothing! If someone can find us that place where we can go and set up our home, be sure that we will leave without thinking about it, but until then, understand that for us it is already being very difficult and very hard, that the refuge is part of our lives and we feel it as ours, so please try to be empathetic, try to avoid making comments that can be painful for us
The images are of how the shelter was when the companions left and the last two are from the security cameras.
