The rescuer didn't arrive in time, his "owner" killed him with a blow, but nothing happens in Spain!
Is it impunity to kill an animal in cold blood? A few days ago a rescue group received a warning from the people who are at the Football Fields of Friendship in Palencia, there are 3 dogs wandering around the facilities. The rescuers get involved and manage to save two of the animals, the local police are notified and since one of the dogs has a microchip, the owner is notified.
The third animal goes out in the field and a rescuer goes after him, finding on the way the owner, who very angry asks him what is wrong with his dogs, who if he will no longer be able to have dogs, he will have to "take them away". When the rescuer asks about the third animal the owner says she's home. Once the owner arrives at the soccer fields he voluntarily surrenders the microchipped dog and says the other two dogs are not his, but will take care of the missing dog and call rescuers to hand it over. The rescuer tried several times to contact him, but the phone seemed to be switched off.
The next day, one of the rescuers approached the area to see if the third dog was showing up, and upon arriving near the estate she found the dog's body with a heavy blow to the head. Since there is no witness to the death, the police can't charge him with anything, but we believe in karma. On the other hand, the hygienic conditions of the two rescued dogs are terrible, one of them has wounds with pus abscesses, plague of fleas and a lot of parasites.
The rescue group feels like a failure to not have been able to give a dog who otherwise would have lived a full and happy life a second chance. We will continue to fight so that situations like this do not repeat again.
