From Pacma Animalista
'Don't you think it's unfair to have to pay 21% VAT for a service that is of primary necessity, such as the health of your animals? U.S. too. Going to the vet cannot be a luxury, and therefore, this week we have presented a series of fiscal measures to the Government that we think you will like.
Reduction of veterinary VAT from the current 21% to 4%: Our proposal seeks to reduce this tax to the super-reduced rate of 4%, or eliminate it completely, to make veterinary services more accessible.
10% deduction in the income tax return: We propose that families can deduct up to 10% of veterinary expenses in their income tax return, with a maximum saving of €500 per year.
What do we get with this?
Reduce the great economic burden that we bear as animal owners: there are 31 million in our homes; In some communities there are even more dogs than children. It is crucial to correct this tax injustice.
Reduce high average expenses: the average annual expense on dogs and cats is considerable: €1,260 on the downward side.
Increase adoptions: we are sure that by improving the purchasing power of families, they will be better able to adopt new members, reducing the burden on the protectors
Your support is essential
We want to promote, from Europe, changes that improve animal welfare in our country. In the elections to the European Parliament on June 9, all votes will count equally because Spain will be a single constituency, considerably increasing PACMA's chances of obtaining a MEP.
We are facing a new social reality: "my dog is my family."
Our President Javier Luna debuts as a columnist on El Plural talking about how animals are part of our family and administrations have to keep them in mind. From PACMA we propose measures to alleviate veterinary costs of families with animals.
June 9th, vote PACMA!
