'Protecting animals against diseases, viruses, bacteria…at Rescue it’s a constant battle and especially in the summer season it becomes a real nightmare with the persistent heat.
We've had to take galga mum Iris to the vet, 1 day of not eating can happen but 2 days ..... Iris is exhausted. The combination of childbirth, so many puppies to feed and the unbearable heat had become too much for her. She’s on an a drip to give her extra fluids and minerals as well as medication, painkillers, anti-vomiting meds and stomach protectors.
We also had 1 of her little ones examined, unfortunately the little guy tested positive for Corona. He’s still so small and we wanted to take care of him at home but our vet advised us to do the treatment in the clinic and keep them there for observation.
In the meantime, we have taken his sisters and brothers out of the quarantine zone and housed them in our home. So we can observe them constantly, they are still so small and have to do without their mom.
All help, support and prayers will be needed. Vet bill over 3,000 euros and growing!
