I just had the news that may galga suffers either from leichmaniose oran cancer of lymph. This morning , nothing but three hours later she developed an inflammation of ganglions. The vet - the university clinical in liège, Belgium - hesitates between leishmaniose (but she was tested negative six months ago) because Shen has skin problem and this cancer. They will sent the ponctionned cells to England to get there diagnosis. I am devastated for the vet says the only option if cancer is chimiotherapy to give her a year more.?.Sheis 8n years old and I get this marvelous dog >18 months ago.

I am so sorry to read about your galga. I can sympathise. My first galga Karmel became ill a few months after I got her and after months of difficult diagnoses, was pts in the university vet hospital at Nantes after a diagnosis of a genetic disease pemphigus foliacious. Her story is on this link. https://www.galgonews.com/2008/07/karmel---a-diff.html. A couple of years later my galga Sahara's belly swelled and when she was examined by the vet, she was found to be riddled with cancer which had not manifested itself until that week. Dr Couto at Ohio University has done extensive research into cancer in greyhounds and galgos and there are several articles about it on Galgo News. Good luck, I hope your galga does not suffer.
