Disgraceful, appalling, outrageous, tragic... There aren’t enough adjectives to describe what’s going on in Valladolid’s provincial dog pound.
The animals already there, and the constantly coming new arrivals don’t have any kind of veterinary assistance whatsoever. The council’s animal collection service has been without the services of a vet for two months, even cases of emergency remain unattended. Whether the animals arrive lame, dehydrated, malnourished, sick, there is no help for them.
Look at the state we have collected this poor greyhound puppy in; frail, with a 32 degrees temperature (when the normal is about 38'5) and with lungs full of pus. He was on the point of death.
Our vet has managed to save him from a cardiac arrest, but in reality the chances of him surviving are very low.

Do you consider the treatment of these poor animals, or rather the lack of it, acceptable? Are you aware that due to your negligence animals are suffering and even, as in the case of this little one, may be dying? Such little value do you place on the lives of these beings who did not decide to come to this world, much less are they to blame for having been abandoned? It is your duty and obligation to give veterinary assistance to the animals collected in the facilities of "La Yosa”, and to deny an animal medical attention and leave it to suffer a painful death is utterly inhumane.
