27/11/2018 Ann's Canine Care is feeling optimistic.
Please don't be alarmed at the photos of Remus. This is the first photo of him coming out of the perrera weighing 18kg. The second and 3rd photos were taken today weighing 17kg.(see below)
During the first week he actually went up to 22kg, but I think that this was mainly water replacement because he was so dehydrated, having fed him top quality wet food. Then the distemper really kicked in, he went down to 20kg, then 18 and then 16. If you think he looks bad now I'm sure you wouldn't have liked to see him when he was 16kg, that's why I photo'd him with his jacket on, and also to keep him warm.
He's a real little trouper and, battling so hard to beat this disease. 3 times last week I thought he was going to die on me, but if that was going to be the case then I wanted him with me, not in a strange hospital as vet Curro does not have the staff to provide overnight care. But Remus came through that horrible week and beat the odds, and I think the main reason is that he wanted to live and began eating again on his own without me having to feed him. And not forgetting Curro's expert medical treatment. But it's still going to be a long haul to get him up to weight and better.
So once again I have to call on my friends and ask for help to feed him because it really is expensive to keep up, and my resources are very limited, in fact they're down to the bare bone. Just like our brave Remus
Please help out if you can, even a little is very valued and appreciated.
