Another little galgo pup at Pepis Refuge Gates. Jane Brian tells his story.
'5 Jan 2017. Late last night the dogs in the refuge alerted us to a possible abandonment. We spent an hour searching around with the torch...but could not find anything. This morning when we were cleaning, the dogs started again so watching where they were looking barking we saw this little fella standing looking at us from outside the play area, so he could have been the reason for last night bless him. Unusual for just one so we had another search around but found nothing. He is very skinny and obviously scared. He will be visiting the vets this evening for a medical check-up. His name is Solo.
Solo went for his checkup tonight at our vets, not totally good news, he weighted in at 2.5kg, he is only 2 and a half months old, he had a high temperature, and was dehydrated and has a bad upset tummy. He has been tested for the dreaded parvo but that was clear, but we are told what he may have is similar to parvo but not as aggressive, but that has to be confirmed after the test have been completed. He will be staying with the vets till Saturday, when we hope to be fetching him back with us. So for the time being he is on a drip, so fingers crossed little fella. We can't wait to have you back with us, so we can find you the home you deserve, our brave little boy.
Update 9 Jan. We have collected Solo from the vets, he tested positive for Coronavirus and is now on medication. He hated being in the hospital area so we have put him in the house...much happier.
