Video about the reality of life for the galgos of Spain. Since I first became involved in publicising this nightmare for the hounds nearly 10 years ago, not a lot has changed! The hunters, especially in rural areas, continue to maltreat their dogs and dump them at the end of the hunting season. However, one change is that fewer are now hung...instead they are abandoned in the campo, left tied to gates of refuges and dumped in perreras for killing - this is because the hunters now know the world is aware of their behaviour and that there are so many rescue associations now taking the dogs for rehoming.
Will we ever convince them to stop over-breeding and to keep their dogs from one year to the next? We have to keep trying.
