This morning I had the most wonderful news! Do you remember the story of the Portugal galgas, producing puppies, owned by an alcoholic with a druggy wife? Teresa and Ines were desperately trying to save the galgas and puppies - the owner was busy drowning the puppies! You were all marvellous at donating to Teresa to purchase special food and milk for these hounds, whilst she worked patiently to get the dogs away from this living hell.
Here's Ines' news - 8th December 2012!
'Estrela was allowed to leave her hell-hole today, Teresa has just literally been to pick her up. I've attached a few pics taken 3 hours ago, tonight Estrela will have her first taste of freedom, will get more pics tomorrow when is light again.
The man is now wanting the impossible, saying Estrela's daughter is not good at coursing (how could she, the poor mite, she's only 2 months), so Teresa is trying to make him see she's no good to him either, let's see if he will give her up as well.
We haven't forgotten about Estrela's partner and older son, and will do our best to try and rescue them. Slowly but surely, I hope.
Please let your readers know Estrela is now safe, she will remain in shelter until she reaches a healthy weight and is strong enough to be vaccinated and spayed, after which she will be up for adoption by a special family.
Today is a new chapter, we're very very happy '
Yeh! I do so like a happy ending!
