And yet another podenco, in the UK already, looking for a forever home. He's with Pro-Galgo and this is what Mo Swatek says about him.
'Goku, or Scooby as we have now called him, is one of the Podencos that arrived from Spain recently. He is around 18 months old and is absolutely stunning. He has the most amazing ears and grin and wonderful red coat.
Scooby is very playful and loves to play tug with a raggy toy, either with his kennel mate or with visitors. He can still be a little shy of new people but is very loving and confident when he gets to know you.Scooby could live with older (10+), calm and gentle children.
Scooby gets on brilliantly with the other dogs here and doesn’t seem bothered about small dogs. Scooby could live with another dog, preferably a female of similar size and age which he can play with. He lived as an only dog in Spain so could live alone if someone was home for most of the day. Scooby also lived with cats in Spain however we cannot garauntee that he would accept new cats, but he may be cat trainable.
I’m in kennel 2…why not sponsor me? donate to pro-galgo@hotmail.com by paypal'
NB I really miss the contact with Podenco Rescue. I adore podencos as well as galgos, but I need someone else to help me with advertising podencos waiting for adoption, and dealing with both foster families and possible adoptants. If anyone can take over Podenco Rescue, I'd be grateful for the help.
scooby is very beautiful. although i only had the pleasure of his company for a short time while we were transporting him i know he is going to make someone a wonderul pet, he walked well on the lead after his inital excitement was over, he slept peacefully on the bed with us all night, was clean in the hotel room and didn`t try to dive down every rabbit hole we saw!! he also travelled very well in the car and was friendly to us even though he hadn`t met us before. Scooby is stunning to look at very striking features.
i really do hope that Scooby gets his chance of a home soon

GOKU-SCOOBY grew up in a friends place on the canary islands, she found him abandoned as a pup. He lived with 7 cats and 365 doves!!! His fostermum trained him with the clicker, not to bother the doves and it worked. He loves to play with the cats but the cats felt sometimes a little stressed by the playfull young podenco boy.
he is a perfect pet, strong , playfull, kind and charming, also good with kids and would love to have another sighthound as a playpal.

I do so hope someone comes forward to adopt Scooby
soon, he looks and sounds like a wonderful dog. Problem in the UK is that
there are soooooo many dogs being dumped at the moment, so many healthy dogs
being put to sleep every day because the rescue centres cant cope, that it is
really only a podenco person who is most likely to come forward.
Well keep our fingers crossed for
him.
