This is a podenco, found chained through its mouth and round its head to a wall, left to die.
It was found in the town of Higuera de la Serena.
An angel named Olga rescued it, with a lot of help from the ayuntanimiento (town hall). It took from dawn till dusk to free him, he was so terrified and the chain was so thick.
He is now being cared for in her home; her husband cannot get near him, he is so terrified of men.
What must this poor dog have suffered. What sick human inflicted this upon him.
Olga asks if you would email the town hall [email protected] and congratulate them on rescuing this dog. with her. Here is the message to copy and paste.
This Poor Animal, When will this Horendous Cruialty STOP........

Bonjour
Thank you for your comment, as you say, when will such cruelty ever end. We have to keep campaigning and get the Spaniards to enforce their animal protection laws and create new ones where possible. The children need educating that animal cruelty is not acceptable.
You can help by supporting the campaigns on Galgo News, please join in them all, and tell all your friends and relatives to do the same.
And don't go to Spain on holiday.
Thanks for reading Galgo News and writing a comment.

This is obviously an egregious example of animal abuse, but make no mistake: hundreds of millions of dogs suffer on their chains -- day after day, year after agonizing year. Being chained through the mouth is certainly one of the most horrific things I've seen done to a dog, but stop to think about it: The antiquated habit of keeping dogs chained by the neck to a small patch of land is so hideous and so pernicious because this "bad habit" is still so accepted. Many thanks for your comment and the link to your association website. Yes, I agree about the dogs spending their lives chained in a small space. We see SO much of it in France - the worst is, I think, border collies chained as 'guard dogs'. Sometimes I could get quite violent about it, but my command of French isn't good enough to argue with the ignorant French owner!
Good luck with your campaign - we all do our bit to try and improve the lot of millions of dogs throughout the world.
After all, if it wasn't for all of us, who would speak up for them.
Good luck with all you do.

Bonjour Hannah
You are quite right, we cannot imagine what pain this poor podenco suffered. But the good news is that he was saved, and is receiving veterinary care, and we all hope he will never have to experience such pain and terror again for the rest of his life. We wish him a comfortable bed in a caring home, knowing only the touch of a loving caress.

Im so glad someone stepped up,,and didnt turn their back on this innocent one... There are guardian angels everywhere,,,,
I just wanted to say... This cruelty is happening everywhere,, even here in the good ol USA.... and very little is done to the one who abuses..if anything at all.... I wish I could blink my eyes and put an end to all abuse towards all animals...Those who can abuse a innocent animal,,have the heart of steel,,have no compassion,,no conscience,,no Mercy...They will be the ones who can cause suffering to a child as well........

Hi
You are right, there is sickening animal cruelty
everywhere, but at least if we all try to help some of the victims, we are
making a difference to that life. Like you, I class animal cruelty and
child abuse together.
Thanks for reading, caring and
supporting.

WHAT KIND OF MONSTER COULD DO THIS TO THIS SWEET, INNOCENT BABY? THEY SHOULD BE EXECUTED.

PEOPLE WHO INFLICT THIS KIND OF HORROR ON THESE BEAUTIFUL, INNOCENT DOGS, ARE DANGEROUS AND SHOULD BE EXECUTED. I HAVE CRIED SO MANY TIMES AT THE SIGHT OF POOR DOGS WHO HAVE BEEN ABUSED AND MURDERED. I WILL CONTINUE TO GO AFTER THESE KINDS OF MONSTERS UNTIL THEY DON'T EXIST ANYMORE. THE LAWS NEED TO CHANGE NOW AS FAR AS THE PUNISHMENT OF THESE CRIMINALS. THEY ARE SUB-HUMAN.
