It's a misty November day, just the sort of day for getting the laptop out and starting off my blog. My main computer is upstairs in the study, so another reason for getting the laptop out is because I'm babysitting.
When I say babysitting, it's babies of the four-legged variety.
I’m fostering two dogs, Jazmin the sweetest podenco and Blanquita, a canine infant of mixed breeding, who is just looking to make mischief. But I can’t blame her, it’s probably her first experience of home life, found as she was injured and limping along a Spanish street.
I’m also keeping my eye on Karmel, the galga who arrived in July. She’s typical of her type, a real tea leaf - thief in case you’re not sure!
I’ve got a new kitchen, brilliantly fitted this summer by TOH (the other half) and yesterday I decided I’d do some cake cooking in my wonderful all singing all dancing electric oven.
Tally at the end of the session - one large bakewell tart, 12 fruit scones and 20 chocolate chip cookies. Left on the worktop to cool, with a baby gate across the kitchen entrance. The ‘quiet’ ladies, Karmel and Jazmin, were sleeping, so I slipped upstairs to do some computer work.
Half an hour later I went downstairs to make a cup of tea. Tally at the end of my absence - NO bakewell tart, four fruit scones and six chocolate chip cookies! And a very guilty looking galgo.
That’ll teach me to abandon the kitchen when the tribe are in the house.
