'Hope is never lost.
Once again impotence, indignation and anger fills the hearts of members of animals in distress and of all animal defenders. On 16th January a notice from a village of ávila (SAN VICENTE DE ARÉVALO) warns us that they have found a galgo hanging and dying in a pine forest, what person can do such a savagery? Leave a living being hanging to die in slow agony.
We urgently contacted the town hall and spoke with the seprona to try to locate it; the area patrol at all times tried to help us.
Apparently, it had already come to the notice and been brought to the attention of the mayor of the area, who took as a solution(the next day!!!!) the next day to call the vet to proceed to eutanasia. So the poor galgo spent the night where he was found.
At 11 p. M in full field and without exact location, as the councilman of that town, was warned and did not want to leave his home so he could get the animal out of there to a safe place; it was not a job Simple, but it was urgent to try to locate him and see how he was. A person of our protectoar moved quickly to that town and with the indications received by the mayor and the help of the civil guard managed to find the galgo. Yeah, "for a change" was a galgo again.
We found the poor animal almost dead, with an eye burst from drowning and neck bleeding. Although the image that we show you is a little harsh, we want to record the cruelty of this act. The poor animal couldn't stand.
The emergency veterinarian told us when we moved him to ávila and after being treated and made the first emergency cures, we believe the vet saved his life, even though his eye will have to be removed. About 1 in the morning we left him with sadness under observation. We'll have to wait a couple of days to see how he reacts.
Some seem to be unaware that there is an animal protection act that severely punishes acts such as those considered very serious: article 28 drawn up by article 6. (3) of law [Castile and león] 2/2017 of 4 In July, tax and administrative measures (" B.O.C.L." 6 July). Validity: Since 7 July 2017.
