So many associations now only use facebook when publicising their work...so I have to trawl their pages to find out what is going on. The founder of Association Baasgalgo, Sandra Baas, moved to the USA a few years ago where she set up a branch but her work in Spain continues with Miguel in charge. Here's a sad story which occurs all to often...
'When an image is worth more than a thousand words...
This is all Margarita had to get out of the rain and the cold... 12 years tied to a chain, 12 years of misery...
Our volunteer Eva was able to get her and she is now in one of our shelters while waiting for that home that she deserves so much in retirement, hopefully for her the best in the world.
You're safe now, Granny, and you stole our heart.
There are many warnings that we receive daily of abandoned galgos, Galgos so full of fear to which we can't even get near them, galgos in kennels.... we can't cope, there is no more room in the shelter
We urgently need foster homes or adoptions so that we can continue to save lives. If you can make a room in your home do not hesitate to write to: adopcionesbaasgalgo@Gmail.com'
TWELVE YEARS!? That is unconscionable.

Poor beautiful girl. I hope she has at least a couple of years left to enjoy some home comforts. Heartbreaking.
