Here is a weblink to the European Greyhound Network. It is based in Italy, although some of the dogs are in Germany. If you are thinking of adopting a galgo or podenco, please think carefully and talk to other adoptants about the process. Be sure the dogs are Pet Passported and proper homechecks are carried out. Also that there is good backup support should there be problems. Many galgos especially have been kept in horrendous conditions and can take many months to adjust to life in a home. My own Carmela came with serious mental problems and it took me over 2 years before she fully gained our trust in every aspect of her life with us. However, it was worth it as she has developed into the most delightful affectionate playful character.
