Two badly injured galgos dumped in a perrera, and taken in by 112carlota galgos - Ebro, the more sick of the two - is on the road to recovery; both his broken front legs are now in pins and he is being nursed at the finca.
Jade - after a promising start, became seriously ill last week and the vet and Charl made the ultimate decision yesterday. RIP Jade.
As one door closes, another one opens for Carly, saved from being killed last week and arriving at the finca today.
Scooby Medina have taken in Gala, a black and white galga abandoned in Andalucia - both front legs so badly broken that the bones were sticking out.
The bastard hunter to did this to her abandoned her and left her, seriously in pain, unable to move, with only a long slow starving and dehydrating journey to death in front of her. She is now safe with Scooby, being put back together.
Galgos are being dumped in the perreras by the dozens each day now that the hunting season is drawing to a close. Many people are working tirelessly to get some of these hounds - mostly between 1-3 years old - out before being killed.
The latest news on Cuenca refuge - which was threatened to be changed to a perrera - is that Rescate are hoping to take over the running of it.
Adoptions are desperately needed for all these hounds.
