Here's a nice bit of news for 5 galgos in the Scooby shelter - they are going to France to Levriers sans Frontiers for foster and adoption. Fermin chose 5 galgos who most needed to travel to France. Thanks to Odile Brochot, president of LsF. And here they are. Scooby now tells me that, in all, 23 galgos from Scooby going to France to Levriers sans frontieres. They had reserved 18 galgos and then Odile Brochot, the president from LSF, asked Fermin to choose 5 galgos who needed most to leave the shelter, so Fermin chose the 5 below, so that makes a total of 23 galgos leaving in September for France.

A couple of weeks ago I posted some photos of two ponies and a lion in terrible conditions at Circus Arvizu in Pamplona Spain. I'm pleased to say that I have received the following email, and have forwarded it to the source of my information.
Those of you living in Spain may like to make a note of this association and corresponding ones at the end of the message, for future reference. I feel sure they will be pleased for any input about conditions for animals in any circuses and zoos around Spain.

Besides being dog owners, many of you will be like me and be horse owners - or at least horse riders at local stables. Did you know hoof oil (Effol) is poisonous? It apparently contains cyanide (because of the laurel content). I've just been sent a tale about a dog who decided to taste some Effol, and the effects and the action to take is something we all need to know. This is their story.
'The galga got hold of the bottom of a jar of hoof oil (Effol) and ended up in the vet surgery. We were all terrified as this awful tar was coming out both ends. She had a temperature of 39.8 - at 40 a dog can die. The vet gave her a vital injection to make her sick and put her on a drip because the tar was coming out both ends - mouth and bottom - and the dog could end up dehydrated.
