This is another poor galgo, abandoned by a heartless galguero now hunting has finished for the summer. A volunteer tells her story.
'Last night I was talking to a friend about what a hard time greyhounds have here in Spain. She then told me that there was a galgo living in her street and had been there approx 3 weeks now.
I drove to her street and straight away there was the galga, curled up in a ball on the road. I couldn't catch her, she was far too scared, so I found the boy who had been throwing her food for the last 3 weeks. He was able to get close enough to put on the collar that I always keep in the car.
I put in her the car and came home with her. I have rung the police and the refuge I volunteer for. She's still frightened but is coming round to me very quickly. She is a stunner.
I've just taken her to the refuge, it was terrible, 280 dogs all barking at her, she was terrified.'
