Why should this dog die? Treated like Trash! Spain, you should be ashamed!

This dog will die in 21 days. Why should it? What is its crime? It was born a galgo in Spain! Some bastard galguerro took it to the Mairena perrera, paid perhaps a few euros, and left it there, to be starved for 21 days before killing it. And there are dozens of them arriving every day, and it is not yet near the end of the hunting season!

I have some more figures for getting a dog out of Mairena killing station. 45 euros per dog. They then go to a kennel where the vet microchips and vaccinates them and prepares their passport. Then there is the bloodtest for Leishmania etc., plus tick and flea treatment.

So, be assured that if anyone can get any of these dogs out of the Mairena killing station, they can all prepared with the correct paperwork for transport out of Spain. So, that is no more than what some of the rescue associations pay for taking a dog out of a refuge in Spain, with the correct paperwork.

We need to know more about these killing stations, not just for the galgos, but for all of Spain's abandoned dogs - treated as trash. Look at the conditions they are kept in. Just a concrete floor, no bedding, green water, dog dirt on the floor.

What is wrong with Spain? It's as bad as a Third World Country! I can't believe how the volunteers at the refuges and shelters, and the marvellous Spanish based rescue associations cope with this gigantic problem, day in and day out.

More dogs on death row. WHY do they deserve to die? How much love could they give to their master/mistress? Can anyone help them.

And please publicise the horror of the killing stations everywhere. Expose what goes on in Spain!

The only company these poor dogs have is each other - huddled together to comfort each other - terrified - why have they been put here...............Why should they die?

We really have to all expose the vile treatment of animals in Spain, not just dogs but all the animals which are treated as though life has no value. We must all pull together in raising our voices and letting Spain know that their behaviour will not be accepted. It claims it is a part of civilised Europe..............ha!
