It never ceases to amaze me just how many abandoned dogs there are in Spain. Hundreds of beautiful dogs, pure bred and mixed breed, live in refuges all over the country, looked after by dedicated volunteers. Andalucia is a particularly dreadful place to be a dog! Here is a report about the Protectora de Granada, in Fuentevaqueros, which fights against cruelty to dogs, and their abandonment.
Suzanne explains. 'I would like to let you know that there is a place in Granada, Protectora de Granada, in Fuentevaqueros , that fights against cruelties and abandon of dogs. Several are mixed dogs, other ones are pure breed dogs that are used for hunting by hunters and some tourist that go to Spain to hunt and then, after the hunting period, abandon them in the woods or in the streets.
